In the early 1960s, with the rapid development of science, technology and economy, modern western society has entered the stage of the post-industrial society, while modern western culture has also experienced more than one new fissions, which gave birth to hippies, counter-culture and spread of sexual liberation, and postmodernism was produced in that era. Postmodernism reached its peak in the 80’s when it became a hot topic and mainstream in the western academic circles. Postmodernism is the criticism and reflection of the modern western society, and also the criticism and inheritance of the western modern philosophy, and then a cultural ideological trend formed in the criticism and reflection of western society, philosophy, science and technology and rationality.Postmodern discourse entered China in the mid of 1980s, which experienced a series of propagations by many experts. Ihab Hassan, the authoritative interpretation of America postmodernism concept, gave lectures in Shandong University in 1983. Professor Frederic Jameson, the famous representative of postmodern cultural theory of America, visited Peking University in 1985 and held the seminar of "postmodernism and cultural theories" for half a year. Douwe Fokkema, a Holland scholar, gave a academic report on Postmodernism in Nanjing University in 1987. Under the influence of these new thoughts about postmodernism, kinds of discussions about "post-study" or "post-phenomenon" appeared in China, such as Postmodern, post-Confucianism, post intellectuals, and Post colonialism and so on. The rising theoretical discussion in that time helped China enter a "post context" era. Ning Hao who grew up in that period and under the influence of postmodern culture naturally became the representative of postmodernism film. Accordingly, this article focuses on this wizard director Ning Hao who is as an director with the post-modernism characteristics in China’s film industry. In the very beginning of this article, we will discuss Ning Hao’s background, his view on film and the periodic characteristics of his creations, and then find out the unique subjective reasons of Ning style’s film. Secondly, run through and analyze Ning Hao’s postmodern experience showed in his works, which includes marginalization and fragmentation, games and carnivals. In this part, the comparison of the application on nonlinear narrative mode between Quentin and Ning Hao will also be made according to the perspective of postmodern narrative, and the dissolution of drugs, violence, sex expressed in Ning Hao’s works will be analyzed further. Finally, discuss the image style of this wizard director via his view of postmodern movie mainly by his black humor, parody and the angle of lens language style.In the conclusion part, through the comparison of the postmodernism film between Chinese and western, it is easy to make us think how to find a road healthy and acceptable by the public through taking the essence to worse in the future, and it is well worth researching further more in the future.
