A Study On The Inscriptions On Earthquake Inscriptions In The Ming And Qing Dynasties

Chinese Vocabulary has been constantly evolving since it started. It presented in different languages features in different historical periods. During Ming and Qing Dynasties It was an excessive period between the Middle and Late Antiquity. The unique historical period made the language features unique. Its vocabulary is Chinese inheritance, but also to transform the innovation of modern Chinese vocabulary. The vocabulary is so rich and special that it has a high research value. Ming and Qing Dynasties’ raw earthquake materials inscriptions is still well preserved and the number is huge. It also recorded earthquake-related information from before the earthquake signs, time of occurrence, geographic scope, the epicenter of the earthquake damage to the rescue and reconstruction. The content was real rich can basically reflect the face of the Ming and Qing Dynasty language. It can become the raw material for the vocabulary study.Throughout the Ming and Qing’s language vocabulary research, The scope of the study is not balanced. From inscriptions from the Ming and Qing’s earthquake-related research, we know the current study focused on more earthquakes, geography, archeology and social disciplines. To explore the linguistic phenomena has not yet involved in the inscriptions, which are seismic inscriptions vocabulary with high feasibility study and operability.In this paper, The study is about Ming and Qing Dynasties earthquake inscriptions. On the basis of material collecting inscriptions, It is divided into five characteristic vocabulary about geographical terrain, seismic description, earthquake damage, earthquake relief and reconstruction after the earthquake, using double Evidence Act. In Textual new words, new meanings, research etymology supplement basic, The text committed to reveal the early modern period vocabulary features, hoping to provide Chinese vocabulary foundation and a basis for reliable materials. It can enrich the history of the development and improvement of Chinese vocabulary.
