Research On Logic Modification Theory

This paper regards the theory of logic can be modified as the research object.Based on collecting and reading the works of Quine、Susan Haack、Chen Bo、Ren Xiaoming、and Wang Lu the scholars at home and abroad, the paper probes the original thought of logic can be modified; the paper also present the arguments of the logicians who are on the behalf of the theory that logic can be modified. At the same,the influence the theory affects and the criticism the theory suffered are also presented.At last,the reflection to the theory of logic can be revised and enlightenment are be given.The logicians who claim that Logic can be modified,when they state their view,they often resort to Quine’s Interal Theory.In this article,the original relationship between Quine’s interal theory and the thought of logic can be modified is explored firstly.Quine’s Interal theory is presented by analysing the article of 《Two Dogmas of Empiricism》, at the same time,my view about the criticism of two dogmas is given.This article chooses Susan Haack, Chen Bo, Ren Xiaoming as the representative figure of the theory of logic can be modified.Extracted from their books or articles about logic can be revised, this paper analyzes their reasons.The theory of logic can be modified in academia filed at home and abroad suffered some criticism, representative of the criticism from scholars such as Wang Lu.Wang mainly captures the mixed use of the word "logic"in the theory of logic can be modified caused by the different understanding.The basic proposition of Wang is:the nature of the logic is can not be corrected;"Logical system can be fixed", can have different understanding.Finally,based on the digestion and absorption of the ideas and thoughts of all the logicians who agree or disagree the theory of logic can be modified,a further reflection on how to understand "logic", how to understand "modify",how to see classical logic and non-classical logic relations and other issues is be given.This paper further thinks that we can not simply claim that logic can be or can not be modified.Logic should be accurately define,and we should give the word "logic" different meaning in different context, avoid mixed using that caused many vague misunderstanding. We think as the discipline of logic and as the research object;logic can not be modified;but the knowledge of logic can be wrong,can be modified.The discipline of logic is developing constantly,and the knowledge of is also constantly updating.We should acknowledge the limitations of our cognitive ability, and be ready to correct our knowledge of logic, once we find mistakes.
