<Shao shi Wen Jian Lu>is one of the most significant Song Note works written by Shao Bowen, which records rich information in his whole life. This book involves many aspects in Song Dynasty. Especially, it is valuable to the research of the character, the ancient laws and regulations, Luo Yang’s geography and custom in the Song Dynasty.The thesis is divided into three themes including the Characters, the Laws and Regulations and Geography and Custom. This research will help us know about the image of the main character in this book, how these ancient laws and regulations worked and the appearance of Luo Yang in Song Dynasty. We will also learn the characteristics of this work and Shao Bowen’s viewpoint on the history of Northern Song Dynasty. The merits, demerits as well as the influence upon later generations of this book will be summarized objectively in the final chapter in order to estimate the value of this book.
