The Folk Value Of "Lin Guangji"

In recent years, with the increasing range of research vision on olklore, new history and other disciplines, scholars began to emphasize the study on folklore culture, history of social life and other fields. The daily encyclopedia Shilinguangji compiled by Chen Yuanliang in Song dynasty and widely popular in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty is worth paying attention to its value of folklore.Some basic knowledge and behavior that people use in their everyday life in Song dansty and Yuan dynasty were mainly recorded in Shilinguangji. The first chapter summarized the nature of Shilinguangji, which is a popular daily encyclopedia published in Southern Song dynasty and gained in Yuan dynasty. Its version of Zhishun in Yuan dynasty as a studied book will be adopted in this paper. The second chapter, the third chapter and the four chapter try to explore its value of folklore, respectively analyzed from text, image and practical writing of folklore.Shilinguangji describes the colorful daliy life in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty by compiled the historical materials in previous dynasty and collected related information by the editor, and shows people’s living state in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty. The second chapter shows folk custom contained in Shilinguangji in these three areas of the festival, storage of food, cleaning and storage of clothing. The third chapter is divided into two parts which are the writing image which expresses folk custom adopted by the combination of text and image and pure image which shows scenes of daily life in the form of illustrations. The image of folklore can guide people’s life so they have great practical value. The four chapter shows the common applications of Shilinguangji used in people’s everyday life in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty, namely the wedding practical writing, the funeral practical writing and the litigation writing.Shilinguangji has the literature value of folklore and the spread value of folklore through the analysis of text, image and practical writing of folklore. The literature value of folklore is presented by the compilation of informations before Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty and the collection of text about everyday life in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty. The spread value of folklore is firstly reflect on the inherit and spread of the folk culture. It is showed in that the upper social class impact on people’s life, folk custom in Song dynasty penetrate the social life in Yuan dynasty and the standard application forms have become a sample used in people’s common activities in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty. Secondly, Shilinguangji has the spread value of folklore because of its features of common sense, knowledge and science. In addition, Shilinguangji which is the first encyclopedia with illustrations provides a sample on choreography for the daily encyclopedia after Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty.
