| As one of the representatives of contemporary Western representational realistic painting, Spain painter Antonio Lopez Garcia shows his unique form of art through full traditional painting language and strong characters of the times. In combination with certain works, this paper defines the concept of space in the painting category, analyzes the origin and aesthetic characteristics of spatial art of images, dissects mental language in the works’ deep space and dives deep into spatial significance of Lopez’s unique painting style.In the period of vigorous development of modernism, Lopez did not blindly join the wave of modernism. Instead he studied and researched observation methods and modelling methods of traditional painting, absorbed the artistic concept of modernist painting, and developed his unique form of painting space in combination with his own language. As a thinker who not only focuses on image and form of art but also more inclined to think about the nature of art and the foundation of the living world, Lopez forms a unique meaning of spatial art from the viewpoint of universal truth.Artists present aesthetic activities by expressing life experience in spatial art in a way of painting language. The further one dives into the research of structure of spatial art, the clearer he will discover the similarities between spatial structure and life structure. Combined with Lopez’s contemplation on deep nature of art, his works which contain life-based aesthetic experience reveal closely connections between real space and art space. |
