A Study Of Raymond Williams' Theory Of Cultural Materialism

Raymond Williams was the most well-known cultural theorist in britain, he has made an important contribution in the cultural studies and literary research fields. Based on Critique of the British cultural tradition of elitism and vulgar economic determinism of Marxism and referenced the idea of a large number of West Marxist theorists, he made the "cultural materialism", a category could be seen as the summary of his life-long theoretical exploration, which made him the important neo-Marxist literature and art theorist in British after the World War II. This papers regards Marx historical materialism and the theory of materialist dialectics as methodology and guidance, based on widely collected the relevant historical data, analysed and interpreted it’s thinking from the formation, development and content, it will has a cultural experience learn to culture studies, analyse traditional literary.
