A Study Of British Time Drama From The Perspective Of Feminism

The rise of the feminist academic research was after thesecond wave of the feminis t movement.Part of western feminism research turned to be on mass media which was a deptinspreading popular culture, thus many a researches of mass media from the perspe ctive of feminism have sprung up. A great deal in the mass media.This paper focuses on the researchand realization of British period films and discusses its structure of gender, female images and female consciousness from feminist perspective.The first part of this article introduces the origin of the western feminism and its th eoretical development, then summarizes the characteristics and feminist tendency of Bri tish period films. The second part mainly discusses the gender relationship structure roo ted in patriarchy society, and respectively illustrates the identify of both genders: man is the dominant role while women are naturally attached and belong to men. The third par t gives a general overview on molding the female images in different periods,and analys is female images different image under the patriarchal system.The last part expounds th e awakening and concession of female consciousness in British Period Shows.As for research method, this paper mainly adopts qualitative study, meanwhile it h as relied on a diverse mix of methods to collect and analyze the materials relevant, such as documentation study, comparative study and case analysis study. In order to achieve more comprehensive and deep understanding, this paper make use of multi-discipline k nowledge like communication studies, sociology, women’s study, literature, etc.
