This paper takes female images in Chinese major melody movies since new period as the research subject. Throughout the development of the entire Chinese film history, female images in Chinese movies had been in an awkward circumstance which were not regarded and expressed for a long period of time, their subjectivity had been also Lost in oppression of male-dominated culture, whatever in commercial movies, literary films or major melody movies, female images in Chinese movies had not been build on the screen. With the coming of new period, accompanied by a dual incentive of reform and opening up and literature and art theory, Chinese film industry has licked his wounds, and created a great amount of excellent films. The creation of major melody movies has played an important role on the stage of movie history, as an important component of movie images, female images have gradually break down barriers of history, become an object which be paid attention and written.This paper starts with the gradual diversity change of female images in major melody movies since new period, uses correlation theories like feminist criticism and typology, sorts out some typical female images in major melody movies in25years, analyses the category and depiction through texts, makes profound analysis of the reconstruction of female consciousness in major melody movies in new period, and explores the multiple social and cultural language situation which causes the change of female in movies.This paper makes an analysis and interpretation of female images in Chinese major melody movies since new period from three aspects, deeply searches for the establishment and transformation process of them. The development of Chinese major melody movies is particular, it has deeply intertexture with politics, society and history, and the image-building of female images in major melody movies not only stem from intrinsic consciousness from film creation, but also Multiple factors beyond movies. Since new period, in the multiple language situation of politics, society and culture, female images in major melody movies were rebuilt in movies with a new image. This paper analyses the tick-tock of female images’changes in major melody movies from politics, society and culture aspects, makes a system research of female images in Chinese major melody movies with correlation theories like women’s ideology, makes a thorough analysis of the relation of female gender attributes with society, politics, war and family in major melody movies from in several aspects, tries to build intercommunication bridges for Chinese movies’ female image building with the rebuilt of female images in major melody movies.
