A Study On The Characteristics Of Hou Dengke 's Works

In Chinese contemporary documentary, HouDengke is a benchmark-setting photographer who dares to break the restrictions of Chinese documentary photography at that old time.He learns and accepts new theory of photography actively.He dares to criticize the fake images of "high、big、complete"and"false、big、empty".He advocates to treat images with heart,at the same time,images should "focus on human nature,also pay attention to the survival state of the people".More than 20 years of photography career, he was stick to the stubborn persistence of documentary photography and devote the consistent attention to the people of grassroots. He reserved the most rare vanishing precious images of eighties of the 20th century and rare spirit of images for later generations. According to HouDengke’s life experience record and social environment, this paper analysis the features of HouDengke’s documentary photography works systematically.
