Educational Troupe For School Service

Educational theatre is a new theatrical form that combines the significance of education with theatrical art. Since it was introduced in China from twentieth century, it continues being concerned. Over the last decade, we have been developing the type of creative drama. With the development of its theory and practice, we found that there are certain problems in the process-oriented education model. As the pioneer in educational theatre industry,the scholars in Shanghai Theatre Academy is exploring a new development model, that is text-based workshops interactive mode. Through the analysis of two famous British education troupes Big Brum and Chichenshed, I will introduce this new educational theatre mode. Through a series of comparisons of the two troupes, I will provide some meaningful experience for the development of current educational drama in China. In addition, I will introduce some educational theater cases what we have done, and make a bold vision based on a project that we are doing now. All in all, through this research, I hope I could make a little contribution to the development of educational theatre in China.
