A Contrastive Study Of Chinese And English Adverbs

Adverbs of research is a hotspot and difficulty of linguistics. Adverb has been a part of speech is more complex in the study and the category of the most controversial. Grammar academic circle now for a series of problems there is still no consensus adverbs, such as the definition, classification and scope of the adverbs, general characteristics and so on. Chinese adverbs in the aspect of word meaning and syntactic there are similarities and differences, on the basis of previous studies, this paper first outlined the research situation and development trend of Chinese adverbs, and then introduces the Chinese adverb controversial issues, discusses the delimitation of the classification of adverb. Secondly according to the degree adverbs, time adverbs, scope adverbs, negative adverbs, modal adverbs, modal adverbs of classification with some typical adverbs to contrast research, through the literature review method, comparison method, data analysis and other contrast Chinese adverbs of lexical meaning, grammatical meaning and pragmatic functions, to analyze its position in collocation, and modification, as well as the similarities and differences of emphasis on both comparative study from syntactic structure. So as to reveal the general rules of two languages adverb syntax function. Finally the Chinese adverb comparing the results of the study in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, put forward some suggestion to the adverb teaching to achieve the purpose of optimizing the teaching effect.
