What the origin and meaning of the the paper is focused on modern people’sspiritual beliefs and survival state.In Chinese traditional culture, filial piety deeply influenced on Chinesepeople’s personalities and moral rules, even the whole Chinese history was underits influence. Book of filial piety was the essence of the theory of Confucian filialpiety. It was an overview of the Confucian filial piety. In the book, the author notonly clarified the purpose, significance, methods and demands of the filial piety,he also responded the basic need of everyone’s living, and emphasized themeaning of a thorough and deep ultimate concern. All of the characteristics abovehave made it a classic which is more important than other Confucian books. Andit was still playing a very important role in nowadays which Is a very valuableinspiration for modern people’s living.Based on this unique view, the paper used and transferred the western theoryof ultimate concern, summarized the Confucian ultimate concern into three parts,that is,an ideal state harmonious with heaven and earth, an immortal life aside bysages, and an eternal heritage in session with fortune, and then enabled thesentences in Book of filial piety, clarified and argued the three parts one by one.Through this paper, I wish to regain the significance of Confucian ultimateconcern and the value of filial piety so as to provide some useful things fortoday’s complicated social life and increasingly tough moral establishment.
