Chinese filial piety is the cornerstone of Chinese ethics and the most basic moral norms.It is the most basic principles of life,but also the most pure human emotion.Chinese filial piety has thousands of years of civilization history,which has played a very important role in promoting China's moral construction.Filial piety is our human nature and has nothing to do with nationality or religion and has important human ethical value.The book of Filial Piety is the only classic book in traditional Chinese Confucianism devoted exclusively to filial piety.It regards filial piety as unquestionable and natural.It holds that filial piety is the foundation of all virtues and the most basic criterion for man to stand on the earth and heaven.It extends the concept of filial piety from being filial to parents in the sense of ethics to being loyalty and patriotic to society,and ultimately perfecting the family by virtue cultivation.Based on the elaboration of the connotation of filial piety and the theoretical source of the filial piety thought in the book of Filial Piety,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the basic content of the filial piety thought in the book of Filial Piety.Firstly,all members of society are divided into five categories according to the social hierarchy and the duties people in each category need to fulfill are discussed.Then it elaborates the filial piety thought advocated in the book of Filial Piety from four perspectives: kinship,emperor,self-esteem and religion.In addition,this paper makes a dialectical analysis of the filial piety thought in the book of Filial Piety,demonstrates the rationality of the filial piety thought,points out the limitation of the thought itself and makes a dialectical analysis on some controversial filial piety thoughts.At the same time,it summarizes the enlightenment of filial piety thought in the book of Filial Piety to the contemporary society,and points out the main methods to inherit this thought.As a Confucian classic presenting filial piety,the book of Filial Piety plays an important role in the history of Chinese filial piety culture.As a product of history,it has certain limitations.However,there is no denying that the filial piety thought in the book of Filial Piety still has important reference value in solving the filial piety crisis in contemporary society.Its thought leaves us many enlightenment and inheriting and practicing the excellent filial piety thought of the book of Filial Piety is of great practical significance to the construction of filial piety in China.
