Christine Swanton is one of the representative virtue ethical philosophers in current west. She discusses virtue ethics in the view of pluralism, and proposed a unique virtue ethics.Swanton inherits Aristotle’s view, she regards virtue as a kind of good quality, and returns to virtue itself. The Concept of virtue should be a neutral concept, namely between conceptual concept and idealized concept, both show the world the demand for virtue and "excellence". Virtue ethics, as a guide people’s behavior science, always pursues the happiness and the good life, and virtue is the center of the good life."How to determine the right action" is important concept of virtue ethics. Swanton put forward the "Target-centred Theory".She resorts "Right" to the "target", so, she tries to avoid the flaw of Hursthouse’s "Hypothetical Agent-Based Theory" and Slote’s "Actual Agent-Based Theory".Virtue as a response to the world, affects this world. In Swanton’s opinion, there are three kinds of profiles of virtue:love, expression and creativity. Love should be a wide range of love, including "universal love" and "self-love". Love also need appropriate expression. Creative as an inner state of human, is a way of virtue acknowledge.Virtue is, in fact, to meet the demand of the world. The shape of virtue is mainly characterized by three aspects:objectivity, demanding and constraints.Swanton uses a diversified viewpoints in virtue ethics, which not only including the elements of teleology but also non-teleology, for providing the defense of the rightness of actions in virtue dimensionality. To some extent, she answers a question that virtue ethics cannot provide guidance for behavior. However, the virtue ethics of Swanton’s main problem is difficult to completely get rid of a circular or circular definition.
