Music movement in Yunnan Province was a key element of Chinese culture duringthe Sino-Japanese War, it was also an integral part of the literature and art duringthe period. This thesis focuses on the development of music of national salvationin Yunnan province during the the War of Resistance against Japan (from the Mukdenincident through to China’s victory over Japan in1945). The full text is dividedinto four chapters:The historical and cultural background of the music movementin Yunnan Anti Japanese War,,The Kuomintang and the Communist Party under theleadership of the Yunnan Anti Japanese movement in music,"Public singing group"as the representative of the masses of the singing group,The influence of YunnanAnti Japanese War music movement and its practical significance. The first chapterdiscusses the background of the music movement in Yunnan from the aspects of historyand culture. The second chapter describes in the Anti Japanese national united frontunder the KMT launched what the music activities. The third chapter focuses on themain form of mass movement--singing music movement in Yunnan during the AntiJapanese war. The last chapter discusses the historical status and the practicalsignificance of the Yunnan Anti Japanese War music movement.
