In China classical opera，the honest and upright official image has a long historyand is valuable for research. This literary image has become an important way toresearch political thought and legal culture of Ancient Chinese. However, previousstudies tend to ignore its aesthetic element, including reflecting refined and populartastes and aesthetic taste’s evolvement. This article is based on the predecessors’studyof opera, based on the study of honest and upright official image. The focus of thispaper attempts to start with the culture of honest and upright official image, andannounces honest and upright official images’ artistic value with peculiar image andliterary significance.The purpose of chapter one is to introduce culture background how honest andupright official’s image of classical operas was produced. Firstly,by introducingcultural origin of honest and upright official image, This chapter analyzes the Internalconnection between image and Confucian culture. Secondly, from two aspects, thischapter explores the development of honest and upright official image, indicating thatthe construction of aesthetic personality in Song Dynasty and the change of aesthetictaste contributed to the birth of honest and upright official image.The chapter two summarizes the multiple species of honest and upright officialimage.
