Henri Rousseau is a prominent representative, simplicity, Frida is a famousMexico female painter, both of their paintings have unique aesthetic value andinfluence, and both have a lot in common in painting. This paper goes from theperspective of image study, comparing the similarities and differences between theirpaintings, analyzing what factors make their paintings so similar and what factorsmake their paintings look plain and simple but with a unique modernity. How doesthis statue of modernity coming from the inner feelings inspired us. This article isdivided into four parts: the first part gives a brief analysis and contrast of Rousseauand Freda’s artistic experience. The second part goes from the common fodders,composition, color, etc to do comparative analysis of two paintings. Third partanalyzes Rousseau and Frieda’s paintings from the subconscious aspects. The fourthpart illustrates the modernity of Rousseau and Freda’s paintings and the influence ofrevelation for the contemporary oil painting. Start from within, from their own andabsorb nutrients from life and traditional concept of painting—this unique style andcreative spirit of painting inspire us a lot.
