A Study On The Current Situation And Endangered Situation Of Lop Nur Dialect

Lopnur dialect is one of the three main dialects in Uighur language. This dialect, with locality and historical specialty takes an important role in Uighur dialectology. Until now, many researches have been conducting about Lopnur dialects in China and abroad. However, with the development of the society, the factors like education, television and radio are causing to lost Lopnur dialect’s vitality and had met the dialect to danger.With the loosing of one dialect or one language, people are starting to forget about cultural memory and also cut the relationship with the history. When people are tending to lose their own language, they also lose this group’s specialty in same time. Losing of language and dialect causes losing of cultural diversity. In conclusion, disappearing of dialect or language is the great lose for human culture.With the calling of UNESCO, in our country, also, making great efforts to save endangered languages and also make some achievements. To start from 1992, for saving endangered languages whole linguistic fields, UNESCO as well as international community has taking been a serious actions.In 1993, UNESCO congress, formally adopted "Scheme of Endangered Languages". International linguistic organization also published "Red Book" about endangered languages "On-progressing Endangered Language Investigation Report". Moreover, they are collecting information about endangered languages. In the same time,1993 was identified as " Saving Endangered Languages Year" Many countries have also set up organization and foundation to protect the language work.In China, many researchers already have begun research about endangered languages. Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as a active participant of United Nations in this work, in 2001 is conducting the major project investigation and study about endangered languages and dialects in the country and formally opened dynamic research about endangered languages and dialects. By the help of this program, many dialects in China also gets attention.First symposium about endangered languages held in Zhong-Shan University. After then, second symposium held in Hu-Nan Normal University, by the year of 2011. Third symposium will be holding Hu-Nan Technology University. In these symposium Chinese regarded as main language.In recent years, many scholars have been conducting field research about Lopnur area, and collecting materials. By the research they found out that there is almost no one using Lopnur dialect. Lopnur dialect already has been under danger. Even if Lopnur dialect is endangered dialect, the research about this dialect hasn’t conducted yet.The study of thesis is based on the typical and representative. For the thesis, materials had chosen in Bayingolin state of Yuli county, Aksopa village,Tarim village, dongkotan village and Karchuga village. The language material had been chosen among different age group, different occupation, the people from different cultural background. Related theory for this thesis is reference for UNESCO’s endangered language index. This thesis is search Lopnur dialect’s usage and degree of danger. In this thesis is conducting research about usage of Lopnur dialect by the real statistical data, providing first-hand materials for the dialect research.This thesis is mainly divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, is introduction, this part mainly explains purpose of the study and significances of the Lopnur dialect research. In this part, also, is giving information about research situation of Lopnur dialect in China and abroad. The end of the paragraph general information is given about geographical situation of Lopnur area. Second part explains definition of endangered dialects and languages.In third chapter, explains endangered states and endangered situation of the Lopnur dialect. At the same time analysis the endangered states of Lopnur dialect.In last chapter, explains protection measures of Lopnur dialect. This chapter divided into two main sections, in first section, explains internal and external causes of endangered dialects. In the second section explains what method should be used for protecting Lopnur dialect.Finally, in the conclusion part, this part explains the limitations of the study and lack of the research. The appendixes that collected by field research have been given both Chinese and Uighur.
