| This study aims to explore the learning strategies of professional courses applied by MTCSOL students and the various factors which influence their learning strategies.This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter One is the introduction which describes the reason and the significance for writing this thesis.Chapter Two is the review of critical literature in this area, which introduces the general situation of learning strategies, the definition of learning strategies, the classification and structure of learning strategies, the factors which influenced learning strategies, the learning strategies of professional courses applied by MTCSOL students.Chapter Three firstly gives a definition of the concepts, the contents and the objects of this study. And then describes the methodology of this study. The main contents of the survey include two aspects. The first aspect investigates nine strategies which presented by Dianzhi Liu and Liangchen Tian in their famous book Efficient Learning Strategy Guide. These nine strategies are the information acquisition strategy, memory strategy, information processing strategies, the problem-solving strategy, independent reading strategies, communicative strategy, cooperation strategy, self-management strategy, and metacognitive strategies. The second part investigates the factors which influence learning strategies applied by MTCSOL students, such as gender, professional background, personality, learning interest, learning attitude. It also explores the relationship between learning strategies applied by MTCSOL students and their achievements of professional courses.Chapter Four is the discussion of the results. The first part describes the general situation of learning strategies and the overall assessment of MTCSOL students’learning strategies. The second part discusses the various factors which influence MTCSOL students’learning strategies. The third part discusses the relationship between learning strategies applied by MTCSOL students and their achievements of professional courses.Chapter Five summarizes the main results of research and offers some suggestions for learning and teaching. The last part states the limitation of this study and the expectation for further studies. |
