After the North China Incident broke out in 1935, large quantities of Japanese invaders stormed into China and the national conflict between China and Japan became the top contradiction in China. The outbreak of the Suiyuan anti-Japanese war in the autumn of 1936 turned Shanxi and Suiyuan provinces into the forefront of the Anti-Japanese War. Under such a severe situation, Shanxi and Suiyuan’s chief executive Yan Xishan, in consideration of the survival and development of the whole nation and the region he governed, weighed the interests of all parties involved and then set up the Sacrifice League, which organized the civilians to plunge themselves into the anti-Japanese national salvation campaign. After the July 7th Incident in 1937, Bo Yibo set up the Dare-to-die Corps of Shanxi Youth after Yan Xishan’s approval. During the war, the Sacrifice League and the Dare-to-die Corps carried out a series of positive propaganda work, which promoted Shanxi Anti-Japanese national salvation movement and exerted a far-reaching influence on the victory of the war.
