Prose is the mostwell known into the field of Li Guangtian about his research now, the academiccommunity pays little attention on his thought of literature and art, so literary andartistic research achievements are limited. As a so famous literary and artisticscholar,his value and position are not reasonable assessment,which is undoubtedly apity.Therefore, for his thoughts on literature and art still exist large mining space, ithas the important value and the positive significance. The thesis is mainly divided intothe following sections:The first part discusses the formation background of Li Guangtian’s literary andartistic thought, mainly from historical background,theory origin and personalitythese three aspects.The formation of this thought is closely related to his age,academic background, family influence and his personality.He has a keen interest inliterature and rich creative practice, under the common influence of Chinese andforeign scholars, he not only has wide view of literature, but also absorbs reasonablenutrition of romanticism and realism in the case of abandoning former’s some badideas.The second part discusses the basic content of Li Guangtian’s thought of literature andart,it mainly includes four aspects:theory of literature essence, theory of literarycreation, theory of literary style and the theory of literary criticism.The theory ofliterature essence mainly from the definition of literature which is made by LiGuangtian, based on the interpretation,his literary thoughts experience the changefrom the expression of self temperament to reflect changes in ideology of life.Amongthem, to express own temperament refers his early literary thoughts tend to personalLyric,his management for the language and thought is representative andsymbolic,and for life experience permeates with thick homesickness andnostalgia.And about reflecting the ideology of life, his analysis tends to focusing onthe “theory of life reflection” and “revolutionary literature for people”because ofthe outbreak of war.The changes of two distinct views of literature essence becomethe main line of his literary thought.
