Chinese vocal music has a long history in its development, struggling to moveforward in face of continuous challenges and frustrations, and has now enjoyed aconsiderable growth with its unique form and charm in our modern society. Thegradual infiltration of western music, which began the collision and fusion withChinese music, has gradually produces a variety of music of east and west type, fillingin various fields of the music world. In the modern era that calls for smashing thetradition and emphasizing personality, a large number of excellent composers andvocal works have thus emerged, whose strong modern sense and sense of the timeshave filled in every field of the society, setting off a wave of artistic innovation.Both have gradually formed a benign mode of interaction, mutually dependent,promoting and indivisible. The young composer Luan Kai vocal creation stylepresents a multiplex tendency. He makes use of the large-scale western orchestraalong with Chinese ethnic musical instruments. He brings into full play of thecombination of modern fashion phoneme and Chinese national phoneme, wellintegrating the western composing techniques and traditional Chinese composingtechniques. These creative ideas have thus come up with vocal works that are bothrich in width and thickness, both magnificent and brightly light, both firm andunyielding in character and of mild tenderness, both infected with the audience for theencouraging flexible form and for the technique of expression. These works ofnovelty and creativity have won this talented composer many awards.In the light of the current aesthetic ideas and standards, this paper will present acomprehensive analysis and discussion of the vocal works of Luan Kai, the famousyoung army composer in China. By analyzing his personal background, experience ofcreation and works, the paper studies the singing characteristics of “My Deep LoveAwaits You”, typical of his ten vocal works that cover the canto, national and popularsinging techniques. Again by revealing the creative features of his vocal works, thepaper summarizes the main concert rules the singer should follow and grasp whentrying to interpret Luan Kai’s vocal works. This paper is composed of five chapters for general analysis and elaboration. The first chapter describes Luan Kai’s musicalexperience and achievements, with the first section describing Luan Kai’s musicalexperience, and the second section Luan Kai’s music achievement. Chapter Two, withfour sections, focuses on the text analysis his of his bel canto vocal works and singingcharacteristics. The first section of the chapter presents analysis of “My Deep LoveAwaits You", the second section, of "My motherland and me”, the third section, of"Happy Garden", the fourth one, of “An Appointment with Motherland”. The thirdchapter, with three sections, deals with text analysis and singing characteristics ofLuan Kai’s national vocal music works. The first section analyzes “Drunk for EternalLove”, the second the works of "the Peony Pavilion” and the third section "BannerLeads a Brought Voyage". Chapter Four is about his pop vocal works, divided intothree sections. The first section is on his "Kangding Love", and the second section ison "We are with you", and the third section is on "Flowers Filling the Mansion".Chapter five is on the re-creation of Luan Kai’s vocal works, in three sections. Thefirst section is on how to understand Luan Kai’s music connotation, the second sectionis on the importance of the re-creation of Luan Kai’s vocal music, and the thirdsection is emphasizing the factors to be grasped in re-creating Luan Kai’s vocal musicworks.
