And Grand Caprice op.5belongs to Frank’s fairlymature piano work in his early time. This work in question, created by Frank when he studiedin Paris, is obviously influenced by the French salon style and possesses a markedcharacteristic of technical virtuosity.Though it can hardly be considered as the representativework of Frank, it, as a rare piano work in France, has no doubt carried the quality ofconciseness, clearness, dignity and elegance of French keyboard music. On the whole,Frank’s "Grand Capreice p.5inherited their predecessors, work exudes French smooth, clear, bright, brilliant style features. German and Austrian music he did not deep, nor Chopin’smelancholy, but did not reach the Liszt-like wild, he silently rather than deep, introvertedrather melancholy, brilliant but not wild, it can be said is a reproduction of French classicalstyle in the romantic period. The article is divided into three parts: The first chapter introduces Frank’s life, musicand major works; the second chapter discusses Franck formed on Tradition and personal style;the third chapter focuses on the composition of the structure, connotation and playingtechniques and other issues.
