Munao Caprice is a Jingpo style Guzheng solo,which is composed by young Guzheng performer Xiao DAI from Yunnan.This Guzheng composition characterizes in vividly delivering a strong picture sense of the famous Jingpo festival.The composition of Munao Caprice roots in the great Jingpo festival Munao Carnival as well as the nature worship and heroic epics of Jingpo.The Munao Caprice is also considered as a new attempt in Yunan style Guzheng composition and localization and nationalization of Guzheng performance.It is written in Shang modes and combined with unique Guzheng performing skill.The dissonant chord has been introduced in the middle part of the composition by frame shift tuning,which enhanced the tension of the second half of Munao Caprice.Additionally,the accompaniment of Chinese drum brings modernity and makes this Guzheng composition distinctive. |
