| Eastern Han Xu Shen’s "Shuowenjiezi" (the followings called "Shuowen") is the foundation of Chinese philology work, it plays an important role in the history of learning Chinese language. "Shuowen" written in A.D.121, Xu Shen completed the work last 20 years, many yeas passed, but the book is always valuable. The book establishes the radical arrangement of Chinese characters,9353 characters belong to the 540 parts, the form is orderly, and comprehensive analysis of Chinese characters shape, sound and meaning, the book quoted many works. When we carefully read "Shuowen", we may easily discover that relatively radicals part, can reflects a certain sense,such as yu part focus on the jade culture, shi part focus on the sacrifice culture, "Shuowen" is also a separate part in some radical, but related or similar phenomenon with other radicals in Chinese characters, such as che, cao and mu department are related to vegetation.Mian, hu and men part are related to the buildings. They belong to a large category altogether, these radicals can explore the deep meaning. In this paper,23 radicals, administered 283 words for the study.The paper is composed of four parts:the first part is the study of style, mainly explain the order, shape and meaning of words. The second part of the paper is classified the radicals according the meaning, including the names of the classes,movement and the growth of crops, human natural appearance, food state and other aspect, drawing a relatively clear classification system. The third part is the study on the problem of "food" radicals development, mainly compared and analyzed the "modern Chinese Dictionary" sixth edition, researching the collection of words and definitions change. The fourth part of the cultural connotation of the study.This part includes agricultural culture, cooking culture, diet culture and sacrifice culture aspects.
