The object of this thesis is to focus on the study of interactive background music of video games. There are three main aspects on which this article concentrates:I. The history of the development of game audio, especially game background music;II. The non-liner property, which is a natural attribution of interactive game background music compared with traditional music;III. Discussing on methods that can be used to create dynamic music which has the ability to interact with the progress of the game’s content through a series of examples;It is hoped that this study can make some contribution to game background music design and production on theoretical level, and provide applicable methods for the design and production of interactive background music on practical level.
