A Study On The Practice Of Super - Realistic Pottery

The super realistic ceramics was generated under the influence of the super realism painting and sculpture. As an artistic form combined by the process technology and artistic thoughts, the super realistic ceramics own high technical requirements and artistic values. The ceramics was required to be “real” and “identical” enough to confuse people’s eyes. This paper discussed the connotation, technical means and the development status of the creation of super-realistic ceramics though the practical research and then explored the multiple possibilities from the modeling language, textural effect and color application by combing the case analysis of the different artists. The artists on the super-realistic ceramics will often focus on the reality degree of the ceramics simulation process. They will adopt various methods to reach the effect of “real ones” visually. However, the reality is not the essence of the artistic creation but an expression way to pursue the artistic concept. The overly pursuit of the effect of “technology simulation” will often stand out the technical skills but weaken the emotions and thoughts, which then lost its vitality. Therefore, what is the origin of art and what is the meaning of duplication under the modern artistic context have become our main problems.
