Now, under the background of the whole media era, new media has brought new possibilities for all areas of the future, of course, the art is no exception. This paper focuses on the impact of new media for the artist.Tracing the source, in the course of history, the relationship between the social status of a variety of media and publicity among artists is the basis of this paper. From the Middle Ages, as a craftsman artist to half of the 19 th century, the original purchaser of the French government as a major sponsor of the avant‐garde art system, gradually replaced by a competitive art market. In the art market, salon, galleries, museums are propaganda media art. In addition, the sponsor of this special group for the development of the social status of the artist and the art has an important impact.Exhibitions, galleries, salons these media has a long history still exists today, and they still play a role.
