This article is based on Wang Chengyi and his oil paintings, analysis of the development process of Wang Chengyi oil paintings and his exploration of the oil language in the inheritance and innovation. This paper mainly through three chapters to discuss on Wang Chengyi’s painting The first chapter is the basic introduction of Wang Chengyi, including his painting learning experience and the transformation of his artistic features, which focuses on his art road and the oil painting of China Academy of Art. The second chapter is the analysis of Wang Chengyi’s oil painting language- simple is the fundamental feature of the expressive force of his oil painting, and it analyzes in detail from the oil painting language, such as color,brushwork, line, etc. The third chapter focuses on its screen elegant aesthetic style, as well as the emotion contained in it. This paper discusses the harmonious and elegant color, tend to be impressionistic brushstrokes and lines, these highly expressive and lyrical painting language constitutes a rich connotation of Wang Cheng poetry painting artistic conception. Such world also takes him back to the pure and elegant home. More than sixty years of his artistic career,also to further our understanding of The China Academy of Art oil painting development provides an important reference. oil painting art, starting from the western oil painting tradition, absorb the essence of Chinese literati painting at the same time, finally forms the expressionism lyric artistic style. The choice of painting language and aesthetic style, fully embodies the painter personality and understanding of life. Wang Chengyi for years to construct the poetic painting language, as he expected that the audience in his painting of a peaceful and better life.
