As a form language of picture, composition has a important mean for the landscape painting and also a conclusive aspect for landscape painting.Zhang da qian who is a famous painter once said:if a picture without a good composition, that is not perfect "separating and integrating" is a special concept of Chinese landscape painting. It is prevalent and pervasive as a basic technique, but it is also quite difficult in practice using, especially in landscape painting aesthetic and create activities. It contains form aesthetic and profound meaning of philosophy, "separating" means extend,"integrating"means closure,it looks like the beginning, developing, transition, and the consequence in an article. It is necessary for Chinese landscape painting.Without the close it will be disperse, and it will be boring if we not use the open."separating and integrating"exist in point, line, surface and all pose techniques,it is full of aesthetic dialectic and relativity."separating and integrating" has not absoluteness, but the contest which create by the relativity of "separating and integrating" can exist in real picture, it is the practice composition theory and form basis in Chinese landscape painting. While most of diverse academic researches about landscape focus on its composition rules, there is no comprehensive system existed for the concept of "separating and integrating", which is regarded as a significant concept in traditional Chinese landscape painting. Thisarticle attempts to start from "separating and integrating", stretching an elaborate research on this essential concept. In addition, "separating and integrating" concept will be taken as the base of modern landscape composition. To illustrate it, the article will be divided into four chapters:Ⅰ The introduction of "separating and integrating", particular arguments and conclusions of aesthetical features in landscape composition rules. "Separating and integrating", considered as a couple of ambivalent realms in landscape composition rules, has greatly influenced by traditional Chinese culture and the Chinese-style thought. Likewise, It also exhibits its unique aesthetical features. This article concentrates on two aesthetical features:neutralization and flow in "separating and integrating".Ⅱ The detailed analysis of causes about the generation of "separating and integrating" relationship. The generation of the relationship does not occur occasionally. By contrast, it is influenced by various attributes. As the core of the traditional Chinese thought, the characteristic Chinese philosophy mainly contributes to the development of "separating and integrating". This article discusses the deep influence exerted by ancient Chinese philosophyfrom four aspects: the Confucianism, the Taoism and the Buddhism.III The "separating" and " integrating" show analysis of pattern and model in traditional landscape painting composition. Based on the analysis of the ancient classical landscape painting works, I classify and explore their regularity and the processing method for analysis of predecessors. This chapter focuses on "separating" and "integrating" embodied in the ancient Chinese landscape painting composition of two types:consistency model and loopback model.IV The effect of concept which include "separating and integrating" in the traditional landscape painting. Influence on the "separating and integrating" concept of landscape painting will be discussed in two views. On one hand, "separating and integrating" improved the composition of the picture. On the other hand, "separating and integrating" artistically accomplish images. Only to understand and comprehensive understanding of the "separating and integrating", the authors will have a future of the landscape painting which are lie a solid theoretical basis when they create paintings in reality. In the development of modern landscape painting, the study of "separating and integrating" concept is the main way to solve the problems, when authors create the landscape painting and is the power and request inevitably to develop the Chinese landscape painting to go ahead. Only to research thoroughly the "separating and integrating" concept, we could combine Chinese traditional landscape painting with the development of modern landscape painting. Only in this way could it create on and on based on the traditions and improve the Chinese landscape painting.
