AQ, short for Adversity Intelligence Quotient, is a mental and behavior cognition, inference or evaluation when someone faces difficulties, and on the basis of which the one creates his own beliefs or attitudes toward adversities. AQ is a comprehensive capability to measure the one to deal with the dilemma, of which the corn is the integration of willpower and wisdom. Improving college students AQ levels are generally concerned by society and academia now. Cognitive processing bias is the cognitive process of selective processing of individual information, such as selective attention, memory and meaning interpretation. And the research on whether the low AQ level students show specific cognitive processing characteristics when in the face of adversities will contribute to the AQ level cultivating.First, we use the questionnaire to select the AQ level high and low college students as the experiment. Then the experimental method is applied to explore the cognitive processes bias effect. The Research is divided into three parts, from the three most important aspects, that is: attention, memory and interpretation. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) the low AQ level students have no significant differences of reaction time both in neutral and positive words, neutral and negative words; The high AQ level students have longer reaction time of neutral words than positive words, and have longer reaction time of positive words than neutral words. This indicates that the low AQ students have not displayed the attentional bias to the positive and the negative words, but the high AQ students display the attentional bias to the positive words.(2) There is no remarkable difference in attentional bias deviation of negative words both for the high and low AQ students, while the low AQ level student’s attentional bias deviation of positive words was obviously smaller than high level students. This indicates that the high AQ students display the attentional bias to positive words than low level students.(3)The low AQ level students’recollection quantity of negative words is obviously bigger than the high level students, while the high AQ level students’recollection quantity of positive words is bigger than low level students. This indicates that low AQ students exist memory bias on the negative self-related words, but the high AQ students exist memory bias on the positive self-related words.(4) There are remarkable differences in recollection quantity of positive and negative words between the low and high level students. For recollection quantity of negative words, the low AQ level students is bigger than the high level students; and for recollection quantity of positive words, the high AQ level students is bigger than the low level students. This indicates that low AQ students exist memory bias on the negative words, but the high AQ students exist memory bias on the positive words.(5) The low level AQ students prefer recalling more negative information related to the ambiguous situations than the high level AQ students, which seems to be consistent with the assumption of interpretive bias.
