In modern Chinese, "VOVde(的)" is a common structure which is mostly used to explain reasons in dialogue context. So far, there are few monographs on this issue in modern Chinese. This paper is to make structural analysis and teaching research with the theory of Construction-Chunks Grammar on the basis of previous studies, combining with the corpus retrieval system of Peking University (CCL), daily dialogues, and the language materials collected from searching tools like people, com.cn and Baidu.Firstly, this paper uses the theory of Construction Grammar to certify "VOVde(的)" as a construction. Secondly, with the analysis method of Construction-Chunks, the paper does a detailed research on "VOVde(的)", which defines the construction quality of "VOVde(的)" and announces its construction meaning, internal semantics equipment and ideography features. "VOVde(的)" is a construction indicating reasons and judgments which stress the acting force of reasons in reason-behaviors. There are three chunks within "VOVde(的)": [reason-behavior]VO, [reason-method]V, and [reason-judgment]de (的). As to the expression features, "VOVde(的)" highlights the reason method with objective results as a topic, and the whole construction has a high similarity. This paper also analyzes the characters of important parts, variable "V" and constant "de(的)" in the showing of construction meaning. The two "V"s in "VOVde(的)" are the same, which are mostly the monosyllables. Most of the behavior verbs and small mental activity verbs can be used as "V". Its semantics characters are [+repetition] or [+continuity], and the last "de(的)" is a auxiliary word meaning the affirmative tone, which is the key of structure shortening, semantics self-sufficiency and pragmatics judgment. Lastly, this paper applies the "construction chunks" teaching approach to design the "VOVde(的)" teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The teachers can divide the "VOVde(的)" construction into different chunks, and output them integrally as ideal grammar units so as to make the overseas students acquire this grammar structure more quickly and efficiently.
