Fu Baoshi, born in Jiangshu, was a renowned landscape painter,calligrapher, seal artist and poet of mordern chinese painting, who has gain great achievements,especially in the landscape painting. On the basis of traditional technique, he was creative, unique,profound and had created a new style of landscape painting called "Baoshi wrinkle" His landscape painting is not only forceful and vogorious, but also contains deep thoughts. Fu Baoshi went to Japan to study the History of Oriential Art, painting and sculpture. At that time, he started to get to know the western painting concept, however, he didn’t throw away the chinese traditional painting technique. He brought the japanese and western elements to chinese painting.Maintaining innovation while sticking to tradition, Fu Baoshi created a new style on his own, paying attention on the feeling, integrating poetic atmosphthere to painting techniques. His works of landscape painting employed adventous and distintive use of inking and brush method, having a breathtaking artistic effect.This essay summarize the four levels of artistic style of Fu’s landscape painting. From the classical works, it can be further intuitively analyzed the artistic style and its reasons, and then can be concluded that the artistic style of Fu’s landscape painting have a great insparition to the innovation and development of the morden chinese painting.
