A Study On The Language Use Of The Miao Nationality In Luobu 's Buyi Nationality In Luoping County, Yunnan Province

Lubuge, a town of Buyi and Miao Nationality, belongs to Luoping County,Yunnan Province. It locates in the combination part of Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou province. The town is one of the main Buyi communities in Yunnan Province, also a multi lingual area distributed with several kinds of Ethnic minorities. The town has a special location with its own special cultural environment. Buyi language belongs to the Sino Tibetan language series, Zhuang Dong language family, Zhuang Dong language branch. Based on the previous studies, the Buyi language of Lubuge town belongs to the first dialect area. Although there are many domestic researches on Buyi language usage, but most of these studies are around thouse Buyi nationalities living in Guizhou province. There are few studies about Buyi language usage in Lubuge town. Through the field investigation in this small town, we’ve got some useful first-hand materials, which will reflect the characteristics that one same language varies when used in different environment and occasions. On the basis of these materials, we carried out a comprehensive analysis on the language usage of local Han and Buyi Nationalities.This is conducive to study various ethnic languages, and also helpful for the mastering of the Buyi Language’s function and position. Also, the study will help us learn more about the situation of Buyi language, as well as provide a theoretical basis to make language policy and solve the problem of language usage.This essay mainly consists of eight parts:The first part is an introduction to the background, purposes and significance, the study method, source of materials and literature reviews.The second part introduces the social and humanistic situation of Lubuge Township, mainly the Bouyei nationality and usage of Buyi Language in Luoping county and Lubuge township.The third part details the present situation of Buyi Language usage, and classifies the searched materials. The specifically analyzed the reason for this present situation.In part four, the author explains the phenomenon that Buyi ethnics also use Chinese. With a serious of case study, the author conducted in-depth analysis on the Buyi bilingual type, their proficiency, language attitude and its causes.The fifth part concentrates on the language usage situation among the youngpeople of Buyi ethnics in Lubuge.Part six studies the effect of Chinese played on Buyi language in detail, under the direction of language contact theory.These effects include lexical borrowing,phonetics and grammar.Part seven is a study of language life in Lubuge Township, through analyzing the language relationship and ethnic relations.The last part is conclusion. After concluding the above parts, this essay comes to the conclusions, and points out its limits and problems needed further studies.
