Grammatical Features Of Hejin Dialect

Hejin city is located in the Southwest of Shanxi province which is adjacent to Shaanxi Province. Hejin dialect belongs to the northern dialect of Zhongyuan Mandarin in Fenhe. Dialect can be divided into four fragments and they are urban, North Slope, Xiahua and Fennan fragments.This thesis mainly investigate into the grammatical problems of Hejin dialect. It consists of five chapters, i.e. Introduction, Lexis of Hejin dialect, Aspectual study of Hejin dialect, Syntax research and Conclusion. The chapter of Introduction discusses Hejin’s geographic overview, humanities and history, dialect ownership, the phonetic system of Hejin dialect hejin dialect, the significance of the topic, research contents and methods. Chapter II focuses on Lexis of Hejin dialect including reduplication and affix. Chapter III mainly explains the aspectual system of Hejin dialect. Complete aspectual system exists in Hejin dialect. There are seven aspects: achievement, experiencing, perfect, start, progression, continuous aspect and Agreement. Appearance includes short appearance, repeated appearance and casual appearance. The following chapter classifies and analyzed four typical sentence structures of Hejin dialect. Besides, it discusses the special usage of “V+ verb”, “Ba+ noun”, negative questions and “ Go+ N+ To ” in Hejin dialect. The last Chapter Concludes some grammartical features of Hejin dialect and shortcomings of the present thesis.
