| Company profile can make an immense difference when it comes to enterprise image promotion, external publicity, and staff enrollment etc. Petroleum and petrochemical industry are pillar industries of the national economy of China. However, the research on this genre is relatively inadequate. This essay attempts to systematically analyze company profile based on genre theory, hoping to explore the regularity of this specific genre, and hopefully it can be applied in the future teaching scenarios. This article mainly uses the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, consisting of an online collection of 50 pieces of Chinese petroleum and petrochemical company profiles. Using a synthesis of Three-model genre analysis, we have analyzed the move structure and came up the generic structure potential of fifty pieces of Chinese company profiles, as well as illustrated the obligatory moves and optional moves. This analysis reveals that petroleum and petrochemical company profile is to realize the specific communicative purpose via six moves; petroleum and petrochemical company profile has its own unique characteristics. |
