In the book of The Creative Economy, Creative industry is defined by Hawkins, the father of the creative industry. It’s defined as economic sectors that products are within the scope of protection of The Intellectual Property Law patent, which includes patents, copyrights, trademarks, designs and others. It is the highly integrated product of culture, creativity, technology, economy and other factors in the post-industrial culture, which contributes to economic growth and social progress. Capital investments and policies, made by Chinese government to support the development ofthe cultural and creative industry, inspired the vitality of cultural market development. However, the cultural and creative industry in China, still in the embryonic stage of development, need effective financing system to power its growth. Raised as a new mode of financing, crowdfunding has brought a new dawn for the development of the cultural and creative industries, which has a unique advantage on raising money, collecting views and wisdom.Based on the cultural and creative industry as the research object, this paper aimed at the problem suggests a discussion. First of all, it reviews the research status both at home and abroad in this field to make the necessity and breakthrough of the research clear; Secondly, it analyzes thebasic featuresand main way on culture and creative industry financing,including the definition of the culture and creative industry, financing status and the choice of the financing way; Again,it discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the cultural and creative industry;Moreover,fromcredit environment, investing and financing environment, the project category and regulatory environment four aspects, the differences on the crowdfunding between China and United States are compared, detailed analysis of the success cases to raise capitals of the cultural and creative industries are also included; Finally, applying the theories above,the development and the trend of the culture and creative industry crowdfundingare prospected, the suggestions on methods of crowdfunding on the cultural and creative industry are discussed, andregulatory recommendationsare put forwardfrom three perspectives including platform,financing participants and investors of crowdfunding.
