Qian Nan yuan is a famous Yunnan calligrapher and politician which active in the Qian Long period of Qing Dynasty. He was born in Yunnan Kunming, although only Officer to four product, but he left a large number of works of calligraphy, poetry, great of deeds. His calligraphy artistic conception is characterized by thick, hard, antiquity, dignified and magnificent. His poems are ancient, diction vivid. His politics is integrity, not afraid of power and privilege; his behavier incorruptible, filial piety to friends and relatives. For the Qing Dynasty, he was the most respected people Yunnan celebrities, demonstrating a model for later. His calligraphy thought has produced a broad and profound influence on the development and thought of Yunnan calligraphy. Formed Yunnan local calligraphy style "Qian yen" the unique typical phenomenon in the between mid Qing Dynasty after to the Republic of China, Contribute to the development of modern calligraphy in Yunnan.This article attempts through the analysis of Qian Nan yuan philosophy, academic ideas, school books, calligraphy, life experience and the descendants of the evaluation and study his literature remains. To explore in the era of change, Qian Nan yuan calligraphy theory’s formation and development, looking for the later many calligraphers, especially of calligraphers in Yunnan to the influence of calligraphy ideological roots, as the inheritance and the development of calligraphy art form unique to the Chinese culture, provide development ideas of inheritance and innovation.
