The role of “servants”, the enduring supporting role on the stage, has a history of more than 2000 years emerged decades after the appearance of western drama.The paper introduces the transitions of the role “servants” throughout vital periods of history during the Europe drama’s development course, analyses and summarizes some of the most influenced “servants” in that course. The paper also discuses the function、the role image、the reason for the change of servants’ positions on the stage based on the social background and the humanity evolution in Europe.
