Based on aesthetics principle of emptiness and actuality to portray the artistic conception, Chinese traditional painting gives high priority to “blank as content”and scattered perspective through representation of spatial painting. Chinese traditional painters adopt the technique of virtual space, giving more imagination through the layer of planarization.Confronted with shocks of western culture, Chinese modern art are emerging with pluralism. At the same time, modern fine brush working attempts at new painting forms. Chinese fine brushwork painters has borrowed new elements of light, shadow,volume,and scattered perception from western to elevate their presentation of space and deepen social meaning of their painting.Xu Lei, as leader of modern fine brushwork painting, often used horse and deer in his works as medium to express its profound philosophical meaning. In his painting, he has integrated classical nature into modern painting. Besides, he has rolled philosophical, classical and modernity into one in his work. He has dedicated to carry on Chinese traditional painting and sucked out the marrow of western painting to convey the modernity. Xu Lei provides a brand-new way in the development of fine brushwork painting and flowers and birds painting, pushing its advancement in modern painting. This article is trying to explain the art language and aesthetic conception of Chinese fine brushwork painting and flowers and birds painting, in addition to pluralism of representation of spatial painting, through analysis of Kong Cheng De Chui Yi(painted by Xu Lei) in style, language, spatial representation. It gives strong momentum in development of Chinese fine brushwork painting and flowers and birds painting.
