Confucian Charity Ethics And Its Value In Ideological And Moral Education

Charity is the accumulation of morality, which is the moral practice within the mass. In the ancient times, Chinese charity ethics include the ethical thoughts of Confucian, Buddhist, Taoist and the folk. Among all these charitable thoughts, the Confucians is the main trend. Confucian charity ethics is an important part of Chinese traditional culture, from which the moral education in the new period should absorb the essence. In the new period, do research on the Confucian charity thoughts and pursue the value of it, making the Confucian charity thoughts play an active role in the development of the ideas of moral education, which is good for the development and varieties of the moral education and improve the effectives of it.This article consists of four chapters. That first chapter, namely,the introduction,points out the significance of this research. It teases out the study of the Confucian charity ethics and the research situation of its value domestic and foreign, the methods and ideas of this article and the innovation and insufficient of this research. The second chapter is a comprehensive overview of charity ethics, which expounds the basic theoretical issues of charity ethics from three aspects: interpretation, features and functions, laying the foundation for this study. The third chapter systematically discusses the basic content of the Confucian charity ethics. From three aspects,historical background, main content and important carrier, this part dissertates the basic content of the Confucian ethics thought of charity. The forth chapter studies the value of Confucian charity ethics in moral education. Firstly, it discusses the necessity of the Confucian charity ethics; and then, it discusses the time value of Confucian charity ethics in ideological and moral education, which mainly contains four aspects:wealth concept, happiness View, relationships and morality, etc. By the end of the article, it proposes the practice path for the Confucian charity ethics to boost the ideological and moral education; namely, it should start from four directions which are government, business, media and citizenship respectively.
