Donizetti Art Song "boatman Song" Singing Style Grasp

Donizetti is an important representative of song composers in romantic. He is not only good at composing the opera, but also in art songs. There are more than 190 art songs which have beautiful melodies, different styles and particular emotions he had created, and those works cannot be ignored in the developing way of art songs from classic to romantic.This paper has exemplarily Il barcaiolo, the art song composed by Donizetti,lucubrating the singing style of Donizetti’s art songs combining with my own singing experience. There are 4 hands of the research include the multiply changes of the melodies and the rhythms, the strong contrast of the tempo and dynamics, the changes of the tone and the ornamental singing. I hope the readers could grasp the singing style of Il barcaiolo through my analysis and research, and in the meanwhile, more and more singers could interpret others art songs of Donizetti in a more exactly way.
