The Identity Of Chinese Minority Films In The New Century

In recent years movies about Chinese ethnic minority groups have developed in good condition and constitute unique cultural scenery owing to its special aesthetic characteristics and profound cultural connotation. As the core topic of researches into these movies, identification has become more and more dominant in the context of the new century. This passage mainly focuses on typical movies that have been created after the establishment of People’s Republic of China, and discussed identification issues in these movies theoretically and sum them up, in comprehensive analyzing methods combining culture study, social comments, ideological analysis, and from both visible level and invisible level. The structure of this paper is mainly illustrated from three elements one by one, national cultural identity, gender identity and national identity. The chapter one focus on "the construction endeavor and path of national culture", and it mainly analyses the ways to construct the national cultural identity by natural landscapes of ethnic minorities, folk customs and habits, national languages and ethnic memories of folk literature in the movie. It also analyses the different psychological activities presented by the collisions between traditional cultures and modern cultures, ethnic minorities cultures and foreign cultures, combining the context of the new century. The topic of the chapter two is "gender identity, the anxiety and shouting in confusion". This chapter, combining the characters in the movie, discusses the discovery and building of female consciousness in new century, and it also makes a summary about the characteristics of male images. The topic of chapter three is "national identity:ethnic minorities and countries. "It focus on studying the relationship between ethnic minorities and countries in the movie which also discuss the complex psychology of minorities to the national identity, combining the multiple images of countries. All the same time, by revealing the narrative pattern in the movie, it analyses deeply the influences of globalization to the national identity.
