| Ethnic socialization is the core component of family upbringing of ethnic minorities.It is a process in which information about ethnic characteristics is transmitted between parents and children.The transmission of different ethnic socialization information by parents will have different effects on the subjective well-being of ethnic minority college students,among which,national identity and ethnic identity are the mediators.Therefore,this study mainly explores the influence of five sub-dimensions of ethnic socialization(promoting harmony,cultural socialization,promoting distrust,preparation for prejudice,and contacting other ethnic groups)on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students,as well as the mediating role of Mongolian ethnic identity and national identity.A total of 1500 college students from 5 universities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were selected as the subjects,and 1302 valid questionnaires were collected.The National Socialization Questionnaire,Mongolian Ethnic Identity Questionnaire,National Identity Questionnaire and Subjective Well-being Questionnaire were used for testing.Desdescriptive statistics,one-way ANOVA,exploratory factor analysis,common method bias test and structural equation model test were conducted on the samples by SPSS23.0 and AMOS24.0.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Correlation analysis shows that there is a significant positive correlation between Mongolian ethnic identity,national identity and subjective well-being.There is a correlation between ethnic socialization and Mongolian ethnic identity,national identity and subjective well-being,and the promotion of harmony is positively correlated with the three.The motivation of distrust and prejudice preparation were negatively correlated with the three;Cultural socialization is positively correlated with subjective well-being;Exposure to other ethnic groups is positively correlated with national identity and subjective well-being.(2)The demographic variables determined by the previous interviews show that the bilingual education of ethnic minorities,high political participation and economic development level of high ethnic minority areas are significantly positively correlated with ethnic socialization,ethnic minority identity,national identity and subjective well-being of ethnic minorities.(3)The results of structural equation analysis show that the promotion of harmony has a significant positive prediction effect on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students.Among them,the Mongolian ethnic identity and the national identity are not only the intermediaries of the two,but also play a chain intermediary role between them.(4)The results of structural equation analysis show that cultural socialization has a direct and significant positive predictive effect on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students.Among them,the Mongolian ethnic identity and national identity play no intermediary role.(5)The results of structural equation analysis show that motivational distrust has a significant negative predictive effect on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students.Among them,the Mongolian ethnic identity and the national identity are not only the intermediaries of the two,but also play a chain intermediary role between them.(6)The results of structural equation analysis show that bias preparation has a significant negative predictive effect on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students.Among them,the Mongolian ethnic identity and the national identity are not only the intermediaries of the two,but also play a chain intermediary role between them.(7)The results of structural equation analysis show that contact with other ethnic groups has a significant positive predictive effect on the subjective well-being of Mongolian college students.Among them,national identity plays an intermediary role between them.To sum up,when discussing the impact of ethnic socialization on SWB,each sub-dimension will have a direct impact on SWB,and Mongolian ethnic identity and national identity play a mediating role in it.In addition,Mongolian ethnic identity and national identity also play a chain-mediated role between them.More ethnic socialization information that parents transmit to promote harmony and contact with other ethnic groups is beneficial for Mongolian college students to improve their ethnic identity,national identity and subjective well-being. |
