A Study Of The Korean Predicate 'x Doida'

Korean predication plays a very important role. Some important grammatical categories, for example the expression of time or honorific grammatical category, are embodied by the combination of the way that predication with grammatical formative.The predicate of the ’x doida’ appears more frequently. The lexical structure and grammatical meaning of ’x doida’ has its characteristics. Recently, there have been a lot of research results in the synchronic and diachronic studies on the passive meaning of ’x doida’.At the same time, there have been some of the word formation researches of ’x doida’.But at present, the research on the internal structure and the conversion of parts of speech of ’x doida’ is still a little bit short. Therefore, it is necessary to further analyze the structure of the word ’x doida’ in depth. At the same time, though there are many achievements in the study of passive meaning, through the further analysis of the corpus of ’x doida’, we can also learn it has grammatical meaning of action state.This paper can be divided into two parts, which are ’x doida’ word formation and semantic meaning. According to the characteristics of ’x doida’,a deep analysis is made, when analyzing the lexical structure, the article assumes that the word formation elements are the independent variable ’x’, and ’x doida’ is divided into ’x’ and ’doida’ in the two parts. We analyze the origin of the word ’χ’ and lexical structure of ’doida’ one by one. On this basis, the ’χ’ and’doida’ recombined into ’χ doida’, analyzed the lexical structure and the features of word class. So, we summarize that the different lexical structures and different parts of speech.In view of the grammatical meaning of ’χ doida’,based on the previous research, we have made further research. This paper sums up the constraints of the ’χ doida’ to realize the passive meaning. In addition, through the analysis of the corpus,’χ doida’ has restriction phenomenon with future tense ’-gett-’and’-eull/-l’. This restriction phenomenon indicates that the ’χ doida’ itself has the grammatical meaning of aspect. So ’χ doida’ not only has passive grammatical meaning, and also has the action state of the grammatical meaning.This paper makes a further study on the word formation and semantic meaning of ’x doida’. However, the correlation between the lexical meaning of ’χ’ and the grammatical meaning of ’χ doida’ needs to be further explored.
