Kazakh Rhetorical Tone Category

The rhetorical questions is a special emphatic modality expressed by interrogative form,which plays an important role in ideographical expression and communication.The rhetorical questions category is the meaning system of the rhetorical questions,which belongs to the lower branch of the modality category.The establishment of rhetorical questions category can not only systematically describe rhetorical questions,but also provide specific theoretical support for the establishment of a whole modality system.The rhetorical questions and interrogative modality have the same expression form in Kazakh Language.There is no need the other side's reply,it is only used to emphasize the expression of relevant attitudes and opinions,which is a special category which the form of expression is contrary to the actual meaning.There are similarities between the rhetorical questions and the interrogative and the exclamatory in Kazakh language.In order to clarify the boundary of rhetorical mood and the interrogative modality,We can be compared from the point of "ideographic function and distribution",The rhetorical questions and the exclamatory modality can be compared from the common ground of the application of punctuation marks.At the same time,the indirect speech acts of rhetorical mood are summed up through other meanings such as rebuke,reminder,urging,emotion,contempt and so on.Based on examples,this paper,through the methodology of descriptive grammar of Kazak language,finds that there are 25 grammatical forms(normal positions)of the category of rhetorical mood in Kazak language,and the means of expression are 6 kinds,such as conformation endings,interrogative pronouns,function words,compound forms,idiomatic structure and sentence intonation.This paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter One:Introduction.In this part mainly explains the purpose and significance of the research,research status,theories and ideas,research methods,corpus and the transliteration and abbreviation used in this paper.Chapter two:The definition of Kazakh rhetorical questions.First of all,the research results on Kazakh rhetorical questions are summarized.Secondly,According to existing research and language facts.the definition and typical characteristics of rhetorical questions in Kazakh language are summarized.Finally,in order to clarify the boundary of rhetorical questions,we compare rhetorical questions with interrogative and exclamatory and determine their indirect speech acts.Chapter three:the expression method of Kazakh rhetorical questions.According to the characteristics of the developed forms of Kazakh language,this paper collects the grammatical forms of the rhetorical questions,and summarizes five methods of expression other than intonation.Chapter four:The rhetorical questions category in Kazakh language.We collect the grammatical facts(method)of rhetorical questions in Kazak language,according to the meaning of "affirmation-negation" category it is divided into "must ask mood method" and "negative method of rhetorical question","cross positive and negative method of rhetorical question" three categories,it is preliminarily identified that there are 25 tagmeme of rhetorical mood in Kazakh language.The last part is the conclusion of this paper,which explains the innovation point,the deficiency and the prospect of this research.
