Intercultural communication is a young and ever-growing field of study in this era arising from increasing international exchange and the integration of the global economy. In order to successfully manage these intercultural exchanges it is necessary to be informed of the differences that exist between the two countries and to avoid whatever cultural preconceptions or prejudices that may arise. It has therefore become an important research topic of how to effectively avoid the cultural prejudices by becoming aware of the differences that exist between countries and their underlying causes. Research in this area has also a practical aim in the sense that it can help to give direction in dealing with situations where the cultural patterns of behavior are representative and typical in being part of the ingredients which make up prejudices.The goal of this research is to show by means of the analysis of actual situations of prejudice the cultural differences between China and Germany, both, the origin and the consequences that stem from them. The sources made use of in this paper are a survey of the literature, observations, interviews and data analysis: Firstly, by means of a survey of the literature and the definition of prejudice to understand the factors from a social and psychological angle and then to offer a comprehensive understanding of the effects of prejudice in life and suggestions to deal with them. Secondly, by means of observations and interviews dealing with ways of thinking, habits societal norms and other aspects that can be found between Chinese and Germans will representative preconceptions be assorted and selected. Finally, by means of data analysis will the origins and consequences and the reality of prejudice implicit in cultural forms of behavior from the point of view respectively of Chinese and German impressions of the matter will be analyzed and established.
