Translation on academic works makes great contribution to the exchanges and dissemination of thoughts between nations. Through the translation of an academic paper about comparative education, the author of this paper then focuses on how to translate English adjectives with negative meaning and loose sentence as well as on the use of translator notes. In terms of English adjectives with negative adjectives, three translation strategies, namely, equivalence, negation and conversion, are proposed in this paper. In terms of loose sentences, the author suggests reversing, recasting, cutting and inserting. In the last part, footnote and in-text reference are applied to be two ways of translator notes. The paper is expected to serve as an addition to our comparative education literacy and a useful reference to how to translate academic dissertation.
