Macintyre‘s concept of good originated from the cultural and social background of contemporary moral dilemma. His concept of good inherited from Aristotle, Augustine and Thomas Aquinas, and the criticisms of Kant’s supreme good. The content of Macintyre’s good embarks on gradation of virtue, divide good into three levels, including good as an end of actions; good which is beneficiary to personal life; good as a common sharing. Through a thorough analysis of the roots of contemporary moral dilemma, and the epidemic of specific characters and self evolution, I explained the Macintyre’s concept of good criticize and overcomes contemporary moral dilemma. Macintyre made remarkable works on three dimensions: inherit and overpass the thoughts of Aristotle; overcoming moral relativism; criticizing utilitarian. Macintyre’s good also bring revelations to daily life. His concept of good not only helps us to solve the moral dilemma we are facing right now, but also indicates a further direction of the development of moral and culture in the future.
